High Benefit Of Garlic

You know that vampire scare to this vegetable, yes ,,,,it's garlic. Garlic has pugent smell and it's good in certain dishes. In the old days, garlic was highly valued for its numerous benefiting properties which are still followed in many cultures until today.

Every 100 g of garlic serve you with 33 gram of carb, almost 150 calories, 6.36 gram of protein and also rich with vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, folate, vitamin C, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium and zinc. Garlic also contain useful minerals such as phosphorous, calcium and iron, as well as trace minerals like iodine, sulfur and chlorine, which are also present in the cloves. In terms of organic compounds, it is one of the rare sources of allicin, allisatin 1, and 2.
During the war, medical surgeon used the health benefits of garlic juice as an antiseptic for treating war wounds.

Dr. Simran Saini, Delhi-based Nutritionist and weight loss consultant is a fan of the medicinal benefits of garlic. She says, "The high sulphur content in garlic gives it antibiotic properties, helping keep the digestive system clean by flushing out toxins. It is great for rejuvenation and healing of skin scars and gives a glow to the skin as it keeps digestion in top-shape." She advises to consume garlic in a specific manner- place a clove between two teeth, bite a little to release its extracts and then swallow whole with water. She says, "the medicinal value of garlic is best unlocked when it is consumed raw."

The health benefits of garlic were realized centuries ago by mankind. It is very effective when eaten raw- either crushed or chopped. As little as one clove per day may bring vast improvement in your overall health. 2 to 3 cloves could prevent an attack of the common cold. Garlic used in cooking should be added last for more of a healthy impact, as a part of a healthy normal diet. However, consuming too much of it is also not very good as it may cause irritation in the digestive system. The only drawback is its pungent smell and taste that leaves bad breath, but other than that, garlic is a medicinal boon for mankind!

1. Asthma patients should not consume garlic as it may have side-effects.

2. Garlic should be avoided before surgeries or medical operations.

3. Do not consume more than 2-3 garlic cloves in a day without consulting a doctor.
